Famous British cruiser involved in the battle of Norway and the sinking of the German battleship Bismarck Includes The Silent Hunter 5: Battle of the Atlantic Official Guide. Once I installed enough mods I found. Mar 08, 2009 Over on the Real Fleet Boats forum, I've seen evidence of a lot of different subs (i.e. IJN) and ships being modded for play. But I'm having a hard time making heads or tails of what's out there, and in what stage of development it's in. Or there'd be a sub, but it's really for a cold war era game that someone else is making, ect. I'm not really looking to be a beta tester.
Hi everyone. I've been playing SH3 now for a couple of weeks with various different mods.
But today I recieved a message that said the Bismarck needed help at NE of Grid BE53. The date was 27 of May 1941 and I needed to be there at 8:00hs.
As luck would have it. I wasnt very far away from that grid. So I set a course for that area and proceded on course at flank speed. I checked the time in which it would take me to get there. But unfortuantly I was just too far away. Either way I still attempted to get there as quick as possible.
But it wasnt very long after using time compression that I recieved another message saying that the British had sunk the Bismarck and it was a very sad day for Germany.
So I am now wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to save the Bismarck from being sunk? And has anyone tired to do this?
Or is this just extra messages added to the game from a mod I have installed and there really is no way of engaging the ships that attack the Bismarck?
I had a look on the map but there was no blue mark to suggest where it was. Which is normally the case when you get a message saying there is a friendly or enemy task force at such a point.
Thanks..

When I wrote the README I didn't know who made that first tex.rar -mod. Thanks for the inspiration Rayman
You can find my 'Hakenkreuz' mod on our Association's server:
http://www.virtualpilots.fi/SHIII/SHIII_Sw.zip
Here's the README of the mod:
Hi all,
I made this historical mod for Ubisoft's Silent Hunter III inspired by the 'tex.rar' swastika fix that has been floating around for awhile.
The 'tex.rar' only corrects the German flags and Bismark's deck paintings. Those files are included in this mod.
My mod also 'corrects' the medals and other decorations, the Ship Recognition Manual cover, and the GUI (Ingame menu screens etc.) with historical markings (Including swastikas in stamps and watermarks etc. seen in menu screens).
This mod is NOT a political statement of any sort and does not promote any idealogy. The sole purpose is historical accuracy and athmosphere in SHIII.
If swastikas or World War II era German symbols are illegal in your country DO NOT INSTALL this mod.
Use this mod at YOUR OWN RISK.
